At the Finnish Meteorological Institute we are developing novel six week forecasts to support public activities and safety. Aim is to map the public needs for new weather impact services and increase the use of six week forecasts through better visualization and communication. The CLIPS project invites the Finnish public to take part in the co-creation and piloting of the new services.
During 1.6.2017-31.5.2018 we welcomed the Finnish public to test and comment on the six week forecasts created in the CLIPS project. Forecast products varied between seasons, for example estimating the melting of snow cover in the spring and development of the growing season in the summer. In the piloting phase there were altogether 33 experimental six week forecast products.
